Offset paper

Created on 12.06
Cultural paper is primarily made from bleached wood pulp, featuring low dimensional stability, strong water resistance, and high surface smoothness. Classified by basis weight, it includes single-sided coated paper and double-sided coated paper (double-coated paper), with double-coated paper dominating the market. Basis weights range from 25-150 g/m². Based on brightness, it is categorized into three types: high-brightness (D65 brightness ≥95%), natural-brightness (80%-85%), and off-white (<80%). Applications include book printing, advertising posters, and packaging. The production process involves pulp preparation, sizing, and calendering. Packaging primarily comes in rolls or flat sheets.
China historically relied on imports for offset printing paper (commonly known as Daolin paper), achieving domestic production after the founding of the People's Republic. On August 15, 2025, the China Securities Regulatory Commission approved the Shanghai Futures Exchange to launch offset printing paper futures and options trading [1]. The contracts officially commenced trading on September 10 of the same year, marking the world's first financial derivative for cultural paper. The delivery grade is specified as double-coated paper with a basis weight of 65-80 g/m², utilizing a “warehouse + factory warehouse” delivery model. Delivery certification prioritizes enterprises with “Green Factory” qualifications.
