Green reshuffling: Upgrading of the paper industry

In 2025, China's papermaking industry is accelerating its green transformation. With the continuous tightening of environmental protection and energy conservation policies, the newly introduced "upper limit of energy consumption per unit product" system will be officially implemented as of May 1, 2025. This means that small and medium-sized, high-energy-consuming papermaking enterprises will face higher energy consumption and emission requirements, and those that do not meet the standards will gradually exit the market. This policy not only enhances the overall environmental protection level of the industry, but also compels enterprises to upgrade their equipment, processes and raw materials, laying a foundation for a future low-carbon economy.
