Physical Properties of Calendered Paper

Created on 2025.12.20
After the process improvement in 2024, the surface roughness TPP value of the calendered paper dropped to 1.38μm, the gloss G75 value reached 72.5%, and the smoothness was enhanced to 658s (detected by the Bendtsen method). The retention rate of the bulk thickness exceeds 90%, and the tensile strength reaches 6.8kN/m in the longitudinal direction and 4.2kN/m in the transverse direction.

Infographic comparing tear index and thickness loss rate of calendered paper.
The comparative test shows that when the proportion of coniferous wood pulp in the pulp ratio increases from 70% to 85%, the tear index of the finished paper increases from 12.6mN·m²/g to 14.3mN·m²/g, but the thickness loss rate will increase by 0.7 percentage points accordingly.
