The ancient collection of the Qing palace's gilded and patterned paper is made by a double-layer composite process. The thickness of the paper base is twice that of ordinary Xuan paper, and the surface is formed with fine and uniform horizontal and vertical patterns through specially made bamboo curtains. The paper surface has a warm and pale yellow color. Gold foil particles are attached by the blowing and scattering method, forming a "rain and snow" dense distribution, with about 20 to 30 gold particles per square centimeter. In terms of physical properties, it combines flexibility and impermeability. After testing, its folding endurance is more than three times the standard of modern calligraphy and painting paper
