Introduction to the Double Copper Card

Created on 01.03
Double Copper Card, also known as double-sided coated paper, is a type of coated paper. It is named for its double-sided coating processing and the high smoothness on both sides. It is made of copperplate base paper as the base material, with a surface coating of a mixture of white pigments, adhesives, etc., and then processed through coating, drying and super calendering. The basis weight range is 105-300g/m², and the common specifications are regular size (787×1092mm) and large size (889×1194mm). Compared with single-sided coated paper, double-sided coated paper has a better printing effect on both sides, but its stiffness is lower. Single-sided coated paper, due to its single-sided coating feature, retains the texture of ordinary paper on the back and is often used for single-sided printing or the production of high-stiffness packaging boxes .

Double Copper Card has a tight texture, high whiteness and excellent gloss, and is widely used in double-sided printing fields, such as color picture albums, book covers, advertising samples and product packaging, etc. In industrial applications, products with a weight of 250g/m² are used in the production of printed materials such as business cards, certificates, and invitations, while models with a higher weight of 350g, 400g, and more are suitable for scenarios like inserts and desk calendars. In terms of production process, double-coated paper needs to undergo multi-layer coating processing. Compared with white card paper, the process flow is more complex. The latter is mostly used in wear-resistant packaging products due to its higher stiffness.
